Is now a bad time to mention I actually don’t hate this site? I hate the owners. Hate the staff. Hate the incompetence of whoever is in charge here.
But I love the site, love the format, love my mutuals, my followers and all of the amazing content creators here. I don’t know what I’ll replace this with if anything.
I am currently selling bracelets and keychains for my stepfather to go to the United States for treatment. Back in March, my stepfather was diagnosed with Stage 3A lung cancer. This means that the cancer had spread to one side of the chest cavity and into his lymph nodes.
He took a round of chemo and radiation therapy combined (chemoradio therapy). That round of chemotherapy present no changes to his lung tumour, and only slightly shrunk the lymph nodes. He is now trying a drug that will hopefully extend his life by a year or so. However, they said there’s no point in going for a second round of chemo because the cancer is now in his throat and on its way to the brain.
A doctor at Envita Medical Centers in the United States said that he won’t give up on my stepfather and wants to treat him. So, here we are… our family needs to fund a trip to the United States which will roughly cost $100,000 with travel and medical costs. This is my stepfathers last chance at a miracle.

Orwell would have hated you and then written a pro-socialist scathing satire condemning the evils of capitalism and made you a character in it.
Fucking. “Go read Orwell.” Fucking, you read Orwell and then actually understand it on a basic level.
Like, dammit, the message of Animal Farm isn’t “communism bad. Capitalism good”
It’s an allegory about how communism failed in the Soviet Union because the leaders of the revolution betrayed communist ideals and reestablished capitalist power structures while hiding behind communist rhetoric.
That’s why the pigs move into the farm house at the end. To show that they betrayed the revolution and true communist ideals.
Orwell talked about this. He was very clear. The man was a dedicated socialist enraged by the failure of the Soviets to establish a true communist state.
He promises you change and happiness, and your tongue tastes the lies. But you smile, and nod. What else could you do? When you came here, you were running from his fists and the sound of the seashore. Now, walking hand in hand with the person you most desperately fled from, you can taste salt.
As you walk, the sound of distant waves breaking against rocks speeds up your pulse, and he cheerfully asks if the campus is near the sea. You know it is not, but keep walking as the fog blurs away the world.
